Opening, Friday, October 23. Ansel Adams: Masterworks From the Collection of the Turtle Bay Exploration Center, Redding, CA. This collection of 47 gelatin silver prints by Ansel Adams represents a selection Adams made late in his life to serve as a representation of his life’s work and what he felt were his best images. Called “The Museum Set,” the full selection of 75 images reveals the importance Adams placed on the drama and splendor of natural environments. Included in Ansel Adams: Masterworks are many of Adams’ most famous and best-loved photographs that encompass the full scope of his work: elegant details of nature, architectural studies, portraits, and the breathtaking landscapes for which he is revered. Friday, October 23. Hijacked Live! Here’s a taste of what Hijacked plays: Van Halen, AC/DC, Loverboy, Pat Benetar, Poison, Black Crows, Lita Ford, Journey, No Doubt, Maroon 5, Bon Jovi, Rick Springfield, Kiss, Heart, Joan Jett, Nickelback…. and the list goes on. They like to have a little something for everybody. They do a lot of 80′s rock but throw in some newer stuff too!! The Historic Columbia Speedway is where this amazing act will perform so bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnics, but no coolers please! The Reid’s Rock’n’ on the Raceway Concert Series is produced by the West Metro Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center, the Historic Columbia Speedway Marketing Group and is presented by Vista Art. 6:30-9 pm. Join us at the home of Anthony & Judith Hawkesworth for another challenging murder mystery from the files of Chief Detective and superior sleuth, Rhett Rutledge. Murder at Gander Hill exposes jealousy, revenge, and dark secrets surrounding the sudden death of the beautiful Grace Manigault, female fighter pilot and world-renowned sculptress. Clarence Felder and Chris Weatherhead from Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina join local actors Kristin Cobb, Bill Funderburk, Bill DeWitt, Sheila Riddick-McKinney and Steve LeVan for this wild night of murder and mayhem.
