Thursday, September 30. Sam’s Fine Wine Charity Wine Tasting! Please join us for our Wine Tasting Fundraiser for Pawmetto Lifeline (formerly Project Pet). This great organization has saved thousands of dogs and cats from being euthanized in local shelters and found them loving homes. We will have 15 different wines to sample from all over the world. Tickets are only $15 each ($10 for wine/beer club members). A portion of ticket sales and 10% of all wine sold that evening will be donated to Pawmetto Lifeline. Through Sunday, October 3. unearth.Come out for unearth, a celebration of naturally inspired art at Saluda Shoals Park. Discover Saluda Shoals Park as interpreted by some of the area’s most talented artists. Wooded trails will become galleries and the riverfront will be transformed into a stage during this unique and creative extravaganza. Beginning Friday, October 1. Blue Sky Reception at City Art.City Art presents a double feature show by artist, Blue Sky – pre-viewing two California destined exhibits – “Car Face” and “Truck Butts”.”Car Face” is an art show devoted to the relationship between the styling of cars and the features of the human face. In conjunction with “Car Face”, City Art will exhibit Blue Sky’s show entitled “Truck Butts” consisting of several large acrylics on canvas and assemblage paintings depicting the rear end of the eighteen-wheelers which rumble across the American landscape as seen from a car following too closely behind, or from a “Car Face”. Friday, October 1-Saturday, October 2. Columbia Blues Festival. Mark your calendars, blues fans! For the first time in history, the Columbia Blues Festival will be a two-day event! Enjoy an evening of free music in King Park on Friday and even more live music on Saturday! Plus, there will be food and beverage concessions, children’s activities, and arts & crafts. Friday, October 1. The Root Doctors Live!Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the World of FUNK! Opening for acts like The Gap Band, CAMEO, KC and The Sunshine Band, Morris Day and the Time and others, The Root Doctors is one of the original party bands of the Southeast and you can see what all the hype is about this Friday. The Historic Columbia Speedway is where this amazing act will perform so bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnics, but no coolers please! 7-10 pm. Free Admission!
