Public incentives led to Amazon investment

Lexington County has spent $13 million since 2006 acquiring a 500-acre tract of farmland near Interstate 77, building connecting roads and transforming the site into the development-ready industrial park where Amazon plans to build its distribution center.

Tax package extends jobless benefits program

The extension would not add any tiers of benefits or weeks for those who have already exhausted the maximum combined state and federal assistance of up to 99 weeks.

2010 census data to be unveiled Tuesday

S.C. officials will find out whether estimates are true — that the state has added more than 1 million people since 1990.
