Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris

Thursday, January 13, 2011- Sunday, January 16, 2011
Join us for a charity performance of “
Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris“. Poetry by writers in the Columbia area and USC’s MFA program will be woven into the performance as well. This musical’s rich composition echo the work of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, bringing to stage refreshing candor that makes for an affective, intimate, and… bold show.
Donations will be accepted at the door. All proceeds from the performances will be donated to Hope for Haiti, a charity organization dedicated to providing both immediate relief to Haitians as well as investing in their healthcare and education. USC School of Music Recital Hall (2nd floor)
813 Assembly Street

Town Theatre and meet Harvey, Elwood P. Dowd’s best friend. They meet one night – Harvey is leaning against a lamppost – and the rest is comedic history. You see, Harvey is invisible. Not only that, he’s a rabbit, six feet tall! This play is full of laughter and meaning. It’s a desire for fantasy in a hard world and it will make you happy. This is “fun”tasy at its best. You’ll definitely want to meet Harvey. He’ll lighten your load and you will find him living in your imagination as well!

Sealed for Freshness: A Tupperware Party Gone Awry

Friday, January 14, 2011 – Saturday, January 29, 2011
Doug Stone has set his play in 1968 during the heyday of Tupperware parties. Hostess Bonnie invites a group of neighbors over for a party. The guest list: perky, rich Jean; Jean’s cranky and very pregnant sister Sinclair; ditzy-blonde Tracy Ann; and new neighbor Diane, who’s made quite a career selling Tupperware, but at the expense of her marriage. The mix of personalities and the number of martinis consumed lead to a great deal of absurd high jinks, plus revelations of an equal number of secrets and insecurities.
