Through Saturday, May 29. Last Summer at Bluefish Cove. Lil, trying to escape the stress of her illness heads to Bluefish Cove, where she meets Eva. Even though wires are crossed, Eva and Lil begin an unexpected friendship that fuels Lil’s happiness and helps her cope with her impending illness. Opening Friday, May 28. Innovation and Change: Great Ceramics from the Ceramics Research Center. This exhibition highlights 75 masterworks by many of the leading international ceramic artists of our day, offering a panoramic survey of the potential of clay as an expressive art form. The art objects on view range from functional ware for everyday use to more expressive sculptural forms. On display through September 5. Friday, May 28-Sunday, May 30. Shakespeare in the Park – A Midsummer Nights Dream. As one of Shakespeare’s most accessible works, this piece has been interpreted by some as a light-hearted frolic and by others as a somber meditation on sexual politics. Saturday, May 29. Jailbreak 5K! The Lexington County Sheriff’s Foundation’s 4th Annual “Jailbreak 5K” will be held this Saturday at the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. The 1 Mile Family Fun Run ($10 registration) begins at 8:00 am and the 5K main event ($25 registration) begins at 8:30 am.
